Hi all. Are we meeting again this year? It may be that near Xmas Mary Ann and I are in the Portland area, but don't let that drive whether we schedule to meet now, or the usual meeting in early January @ Kit's.

I would like to have a meeting some time soon. We have to find a place in the Portland area to meet. We need to discuss WCW and if and how we can do it. The general opinion has been that we should and I am willing to coordinate it but I am going to need help.

At the moment I am taking to the Red Lion on the River about the availability of room, prices, etc. I expect to hear from them some time in the next couple of days.

So, can you all indicate your availability on the weekends f Dec. 10 and 17?

I haven't heard from Kit. Perhaps he'll indicate in reply whether he can host in January. Regarding a potential Dec. meeting Jim Graybill has been ill so we need another place. Robert Toland, any possibility?

I seem to be doing much better now and should be able to host a meeting on Dec. 18, Sunday. I talked to Robert Toland about that date and he can make it if we give him some lead time. Let me know asap if we're to have a meeting at my place on the 18th. Thanks,

Folks, a meeting on 12/18 will work for me. We need a good number of people to turn up for this meeting so we can have a serious discussion about WCW. Please indicate if you can make it that day.

I have just got off the phone with a sales manager from the Red Lion on the River. Space is available on the weekend of April 6 and on April 13. For the 6th we could use two of the rooms that we'll use for the convention, in their Mt. St. Helens Ballroom (i.e. two adjacent rooms. Frankly, those rooms are a bit bigger than we need for WCW. On 4/13 we can use the Overton/Lovejoy/Pettygrove complex, which is under one of the guest room wings. I like that option because the area is separate from other meeting rooms, giving us more privacy. To try to sweeten the deal with the hotel, I've told them that I would encourage attendees to eat at their restaurant, particularly on the Saturday night. We would reserve a space for our group, which would substitute for our traditional meal at the Chinese restaurant. The Red Lion's restaurant is quite nice, overlooking the river. I've eaten there an the meal was good.

The sales person I spoke to will be sending me a proposal within the next day or two. I have stressed that he is dealing with cheapskates and that price will be an issue, probably the deciding issue. I'll let you all know when I receive that.

I have a kind of questionnaire all ready to go asking what people are willing to help with if we go ahead. I'll post that as soon as I get the proposal, adding in a question or two about whether it is acceptable.

Let me know about your availability for a meeting on 12/18.

I am unsure about attending because it really all comes down to finances for me. That being said, the date for me isn't really an issue.

It has been pointed out to me that April 6 is Easter weekend, which would make it an unsuitable choice. I tend to be oblivious to these things. Sorry about that.

I prefer 4/13 anyway because the rooms available are more suitable for our purposes. I will respond again when I have a proposal in hand.

13 April is much better than the 6th. 6th is Passover, too :)

Will see about the 18th. Meetings on Sunday are about 10x harder for me, have to be at work bright and early on the 19th and our office is open that week.

Can we Skype in?

Perhaps we could start at about 11 am instead of noon, allowing us to finish earlier.
