Hey, it was great seeing you guys again! Sorry I have slacked on so many meetings, but that's life right now. Thanks to Vern Treat for the L tanganicanus eggs! Kate
Looks like I am going to be busy, not merely for the meeting but possibly for the year. A business venture has come up involving a new fish store. Would love to help out with WCW but committing to it may be unrealistic at least until I know what my commitment to the shop will be. The store will be primarily saltwater. The next meeting of the local marine club is of course the same date and time as Kit's meeting, and we need to recruit bodies to help move the gear, install fittings, plumb, wire the store and possibly do sales and maintenance later and generally put a good spin on any gossip, which is flying, so I have to go. The saltwater meeting probably will be real brief, if I can I will head to Kit's. Miss hanging out with you guys. Hope you all are well. Kate
In case I do not make it, my vote on doing the AKA convention is a no and on the WCW thing if you are confident you can handle it... go for it. Have started seeing the controversies swirling online that threaten the AKA and really do not want to participate further in the fray.
Thanks for the meeting and ride! I put some notho eggs in water and maybe if I hack the algae back in my few tanks I can get some fish going. Good seeing you all again. On a sad note I saw the obituary of Joan Glascock is on the Oregonian website. I met her at an early NWK meeting at Brian Perkins' house, she was nice and sold me a pair of good fish. Here is her obituary: http://www.oregonlive.com/news/index. ... joan_butner_glascock.html
no worries on holding onto them. That email is still good. I know about being busy, that is part of why I can't keep so many living things (cutting way back all around). Felt better so I took a part time job too, and looking for more work. It is tank maintenance for a couple businesses with big reef systems. Have fun with all the parties! Kate
Guess 30 bucks is too much... how about 15? That is less than a dollar a fish for half grown tanganicanus... they come with the special salt they have to have and the jar is nearly full. I think the diagonal swimming thing is posture as the lowest fish in the group does it only when feeding, it's trying to get the food the others dropped. Local pickup only from SE PDX Kate
Struggling now with deciding... have to be back here for dinner as Ben's Mom is in town and this is the one night we are supposed to get together. Figures eh? They live in Seattle but we only see her once or twice a year. Kate
