NWK site updated

You may notice that the Northwest Killies site has been updated. This was mostly done to bring the content management system up to the most recent version, which allows us to use the reCaptcha utility to prevent spam registrations. We were being plagued by those.

As part of this upgrade I would like to change over from our email list to forums on this site. The reason is that the list also generates huge amounts of spam, which ends up in my mailbox as list administrator. I will be discussing this with you before implementing the change.

While doing the upgrade, I have changed some of the modules we use to versions that are fully compatible with the CMS. You will notice a different theme and differences in the News module, as well as some others.

Even if you were previously registered on the NWK site you will need to register again. You may wish to use the Remember Me option when you first log on, after registering, which will bypass the need to log on every time you access the site. Of course, only do that from a secure computer, like your home machine. I apologize for any inconvenience this need to re-register may cause.

Barry Cooper
Webmaster
