Things to do

Portland is a wonderful city. It is very enlighted. For one thing it is amongst the "greenest" of cities. In fact, the DoubleTree Hotel, site of the convention, is Green Seal certified. Another indication of enlightenment is that Portland has a "fareless square" within which all public transport, the MAX, the streetcars and the buses are free. The DoubleTree hotel is within the fareless square.

The Lloyd Center Mall, picture top right, is right across from the DoubleTree hotel. It has many shops, a food court and, believe it on not, a full sized ice hockey rink. The rink will be open at the time of the convention. Remember there's no sales tax in Oregon!

Portland offers many other attractions, including the Rhododendron Gardens, the Rose Garden, and the world's largest independent bookstore, Powell's.

There are too many attractions to list here. We recommend you visit the TravelPortland site to really explore what Portland has to offer.
