  • AKA Affiliate Clubs Map, Created on Apr 6, 2007 - Updated Apr 7, 2007 is a Google Maps showing the Affiliate Clubs of the AKA with references and information, such as meeting times, dates, directions and a brief description of each club.  The map was created by Barry Cooper and can also be found on the AKA website.  Please note that some facts are outdated, for instance, the ChiKA meeting times and dates.  Please use the times found elsewhere on this site.

  • JAKA Breeding Reference by Jim Gaisor
    A summary document compiled by Jim Gaisor, long time WAKO and AKA member, that was his handout accompaning his National Convention 2000 presentation, "Alternatives to Viagra for Killie Breeding,". This reference has two elements. First, indexes listing every JAKA article relevant to breeding killies. The index is organized by genera and then by species. Second, as if this wasn't enough, Jim also created a series of tables that graphically show common elements the authors reported for each species, again organized by genera.

    A brief explanation of a new study on orange lyretail genetics that may help fish breeders improve the viability of the strain in their fishrooms.

  • Phylogenetic (evolutionary) Relationships of the Family Rivulidae by Tomas Hrbek, 9/11/98
    Tomas Hrbek spoke at the September on new data and results he will be publishing on the  relationships of the family Rivulidae (Rivulus) based on molecular (DNA) data. Tomas wrote this short paper as a pre-meeting primer for members attending the meeting.

    Mike originally wrote up some notes on this technique back in 1986.  The origial article, SPONGE.HTM, has some rough diagrams that may help you visualize the final product.   Mike is working on providing photos of the tools and filters.  I will add them to this article when they are ready.
