Hi I just have a couple of quick question regarding the fry of this killie:
How high should I keep the water level in a ten gallon tank?
Can I put a whisper in tank filter in a livebearer breeding net(fine mesh) as a filter?
Can I raise cyclop in the same tank with the fry? What would I feed he cyclops?
Can I keep a ghost shrimp with the fry and eggs?
Can I put in elodea, ceratophyllum(hornwort), riccia, and duckweed?
Can I put an airstone in it to aerate the tank?
I am unable to feed them live food like bbs so can I just feed them egg yolk and cyclopeeze?
Can the tank be 76 degrees Fahrenhet?
How many times a dy must I feed the fry?
How big do the fry have to be before I can feed them flake food and aquarium fish pellet food?
Please answer asap because my eggs have already arrived. BTW I don't know if this helps but I have eggs of chocolate and orange aphyosemion australe variety together. Thanks!

I don't know how to answer all your questions for your setup. However, this is how I raise australe. I incubate the eggs in 12 oz. deli cups in about 8 oz. of tap water for the first few days then in dechlorinated tap water for the next 10-14 days until they hatch. When they hatch I feed them micro or walter worms the first day and transfer them to a shoe box in the same dechlorinated tap water. I add a clump of Java moss and pond snails and the water is changed about 10% daily automatically. The water is maintained at overflow level of about 2 inches deep at 70-75 degrees. My tap water is neutral pH and about 220 ppm dissolved solids - 98 ppm general hardness. I feed them once a day with newly hatched brine shrimp until they are sexable at about two months. Then I move them to permanent conditions. I would not keep gold and chocolate australes together after they are visibly separable in order to avoid crosses. I hope this is helpful.

How high should I keep the water level in a ten gallon tank? You can keep the tank at 80-90% full 0f water
Can I put a whisper in tank filter in a livebearer breeding net(fine mesh) as a filter? I use spong filters for the high bacteria count and tey won't usually trap the small fry.
Can I raise cyclop in the same tank with the fry? What would I feed he cyclops? I would not raise cyclops in the same tank.
Can I keep a ghost shrimp with the fry and eggs? NO
Can I put in elodea, ceratophyllum(hornwort), riccia, and duckweed? YES
Can I put an airstone in it to aerate the tank? YES
I am unable to feed them live food like bbs so can I just feed them egg yolk and cyclopeeze? cyclopeese will work BUT can spoil the tank quite quickly and tends to float is not pre-wet
Can the tank be 76 degrees Fahrenhet? YES
How many times a dy must I feed the fry? Once to twice
How big do the fry have to be before I can feed them flake food and aquarium fish pellet food? Never have seen them take pellet food. Flakes can be crushed up quuite small and can be given early. Most of use use BBS however but you said you can't do that.
Please answer asap because my eggs have already arrived. BTW I don't know if this helps but I have eggs of chocolate and orange aphyosemion australe variety together. Thanks!
I don't put eggs of any killi species together. The females might be distinguishable as the red-orange have a slight orange tint.

Thank you so much for answering but my ghost shrimp already ate up all the eggs and fry except for a rather big one so now I'm just going to have to find someone who sells eggs of both varieties again.

Thank you so much for your answer but unfortunately the ghost shrimp has already eaten all the eggs and fry except for one rather large fry so now I'm going to have to find a breeder who can sell me more eggs.

Some options for you as you are learning along with the rest of us. If I had a nickel for every time I have done something I regret with killies, well you know how this finishes.
You can look at the archieves of the fish and eggs lists on this AKA website and look for people who might still have them. There is also a fish registry on this AKA site where members advertise their fish and eggs online. You could join the AKA and get the fish listings currently every month as you will likely want more of this species of fish. You can join the AKA on this site; I think it's $26 per year and there are multiple benefits. A third option for you is the Aquabid website where you can buy killies at auction. It's not just the fish that are valuable; there is a fellowship of support that has developed quite well if you would like to avail yourself of it.
