Good day everyone!
Im new here in this forum and Im from the Philippines. Im waiting for my n. rachovi eggs as my first killifish. I would like to ask if it is a neccessity for me to age tap water( treated with tetra aquasafe) before using it in water changes for my killifish. Thanks

The main reasons to let tap water age are to let chlorine which may be added to sanitize the water dissipate, and to let tap water reach temperatures and dissolved gas levels that match aquarium conditions. If chloramine is used in your tap water to sanitize it, you have to add a water treatment to break the chloramine and then neutralize the resulting chlorine and ammonia.
So I guess the answer to your question depends on how/if your tap water is treated. Welcome to killies. Good luck with your rachovii. Keith

Probably the important thing to do early is to make sure you have a culture of microworms or infusorians ready to feed to the fry when they hatch. Don't rush to hatch the eggs until you have the food supply available. A few days or weeks still in the dry state will not harm the eggs but hatching with no food on hand will kill the fry! Killifish are not like a lot of fry in that they hatch out hungry, not with yolk sacs. This is probably even more significant among annual killies. Notho rachovii are consideren one of the more difficult Nothos since the fry are smaler than some other Nothos. Be sre to have the proper size LIVE foods available wehn the fry hatch. Nothos also are more picky about having only live food than many other killies. The motion of the food is what attracts the fry
