Barry,
I'm glad the killietalk list has progressed to a BB. :D

BB= bulletin board. Modern forums are evolved from the old bulletin boards that started when PCs first came to be.

I have some reservations about BB style of disacussion. I went throught this phase back in the 1980's and found it cumbersome compared to a mailing list. I clearly remember the killifish BB run by Tom Grady in those days. However, I will look forward to this one as something new and different.

Fora (forums to those educated in mandatory govt. schools) are pretty different from bulletin boards, now. I agree with Barry that one evolved from the other. Maybe specialized mail lists evolved more from Usenet newsgroups, IDK.
I was running one of those (a BB), long before the www was invented. At 300 baud, it was a real winner, too! The format is much less significant than the content. My feeble opinion is that we will gravitate to the one with content we find useful or interesting. That will be eventually determined by who likes which method. Wright

I also ran a BBS back in the days when they were popular. The format is easy to work with.
