The main reasons to let tap water age are to let chlorine which may be added to sanitize the water dissipate, and to let tap water reach temperatures and dissolved gas levels that match aquarium conditions. If chloramine is used in your tap water to sanitize it, you have to add a water treatment to break the chloramine and then neutralize the resulting chlorine and ammonia.
So I guess the answer to your question depends on how/if your tap water is treated.
